Karan received B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics from UCLA in 2010. He completed his S.M. in Electrical Engineering in the Physical Optics and Electronics Group at MIT with a thesis entitled “Resonant photonic crystal photodetectors for the infrared in silicon.” He is currently working on integrated photonics for quantum information processing with trapped ions.
